San Luis Obispo, CA—The County of San Luis Obispo Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to extend the County’s shelter crisis declaration through December 31, 2025. This extension allows for the continuation of essential measures to expedite the creation and operation of emergency shelters on County-owned public land.

Local nonprofit organization People's Self-Help Housing hosted the grand opening of its Pismo Terrace housing unit on Wednesday.
Officials say the apartments, which were built in collaboration with 5 Cities Homeless Coalition, are for low-income households, formerly homeless people, and transitional-age youth.
The Coalition’s mission to help those who are homeless or facing homelessness incorporates three pillars: resources, support and hope. Each is key to improving the personal well-being of our clients as well as strengthening our broader community.
